The
Qur'an Reveals:
"Repeated
New Creations"
The
Paleontologists Discover:
"Punctuated
Equilibrium Of Species"
Secular Education and Faith
Our present generation
is taught in many Schools, Colleges and Universities the hypothesis of
Evolution and Darwinism. They are also asked to do further research on
these topics and write papers on them.
If they do start having
their faith in these enigmatic topics as the
Scientific Theories based upon the True Facts
and not as Hypotheses then the concept of Allah as The Creator and The
Sustainer of the Worlds and the teachings of the Qur'an can be in direct
conflict within their minds. However, the REALITIES are that what Allah
(swt) had Revealed 1400 years ago to mankind is being discovered today
by the Paleontologists through the outstanding facts from the fossil record.
Please read the following verses carefully:
(The translations are by Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
It is He Who begins (the process of)
creation; then repeats it; and for Him it is most easy. Qur'an
30: 27
If He so will He can remove you and
put (in your place) a new Creation? Nor is that for Allah any great matter.
Qur'an 14: 19 -20
We have decreed Death to be your common lot
and We are not to be frustrated from changing your Forms and creating you
(again) in (Forms) that ye know not.
56: 60-61
It is We Who created them and We have made
their joints strong; but when We will We can substitute the like of them
by a complete change.
Qur'an 76: 28
Does every man of them long to enter the Garden
of Bliss?
By no means! For We have created them out
of the (base matter) they know! Now I do call to witness the Lord of all
points in the East and the West that We can certainly Substitute for them
better (men) than they; and We are not to be defeated (in Our Plan).
Qur'an 70: 38-41
Within the above quoted verses
of the Qur'an, Allah reveals that He has in the past Repeated the Creations
and promises to do the same in the future. He also informs us that if He
was to replace us (the present Creation), He would bring a Newer Creation
in our place with a better form that we know not of and with the stronger
joints (skeleton).
Please read the following texts carefully:
Stephen
Jay Gould, a noted paleontologist and a well known lecturer who teaches
geology, biology and history of science at Harvard University writes in
his book, Hen's Teeth and Horse's Toes - further reflections in natural
history - :
I
count myself among evolutionists who argue for a jerky, or episodic, rather
than a smoothy gradual, pace of change. In 1972 my colleague Niles Eldridge
and I developed the theory of punctuated equilibrium. We argued that two
outstanding facts of the fossil records - geologically
"sudden" origin of new species and failure to change thereafter (stasis)
- reflect the predictions of evolutionary theory, not the imperfection
of the fossil records. In most theories, small isolated populations are
the source of new species, and the process of speciation takes thousands
or tens of thousands of years. This amount of time, so long when measured
against our lives, is a geological microsecond.
(W. W. Norton & Co., New York, page 259)
In News week March 28, 1982 appeared an article on the theory of
punctuated equilibrium and the New Evolutionary Timetable by Steven M.
Stanley, a Johns Hopkins' paleontologist. In brief he said:
Instead
of changing gradually as one generation shades into the next, the process
of evolution proceeds in discrete leaps...
There are
no transitional forms between the species, but rather a
sudden emergence of new species...
There are
hypothetical 'missing links' from one species to another...
This applies
to Homo sapiens as it does to other species.
Insha'Allah,
more text will be added...
